In June 2019, DMAN will welcome its first seminar group from Tanzania. The joint pilot programme of the German government and the federal state is carried out in cooperation with the State of Lower Saxony and GIZ. It targets young professionals working in Tanzania's public water sector.
At the end of May, DMAN director Harald Becker travelled to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania's largest city and the country's economic and cultural centre, to prepare the participants for their stay in Germany.
The two-day preparation workshop covered these topics: overview of German economy, politics, society; intercultural differences; presentation of the planned seminar contents; organizational aspects; introduction to the seminar topics "Leadership" and "Communication".
From 23 June to 6 July 2019, the participants will come to Celle to study these topics: the concept of leadership, various leadership styles, effective communication, team dynamics, coaching and mentoring techniques, the creation of a creative and innovative working environment, aspects of problem solving, corporate governance.
Industry-specific information visits are an integral part of all DMAN programmes, and the participants of this programme will also have the opportunity to exchange information and experience with local professionals and managers at German institutions, learn about best practices and establish new business contacts. Visits are planned, among others, to the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of the Environment in Hanover, and to the District Association for Water and Soil in Uelzen.
