Alexander Wurst appointed as new Academy Director of DMAN

Alexander Wurst will take over the position of the DMAN Academy Director and Managing Director on 1 January 2022 from his predecessor Harald Becker, who retires at the end of 2021.

"I look forward to this new task and to working with the professional team at the Academy," says Alexander Wurst. "Together, we will pursue the goal of making DMAN the leading training provider for specialists and managers in the defined target regions. We are modernising our offer to increase the benefits for our partners and customers through the possibilities offered by the digitalisation."

Alexander Wurst looks back on a 20-year career at Deutsche Messe AG. As Senior Vice President and member of the managing board, he headed the international trade fairs division there. In this function, he was responsible for leading fairs and numerous guest events at the Hannover exhibition grounds, and he played a key role in the development of innovative exhibition concepts and marketing strategies.

He also managed the network of sales partners in 70 countries and Deutsche Messe's international subsidiaries in Australia, India, Italy, Turkey and the USA. Thanks to his many years of experience abroad, which also took him to DMAN's target regions, Alexander Wurst has extensive intercultural competence.

He began his career as a student trainee at a bank, then worked as the assistant to the director at the Landessportbund Niedersachsen, the umbrella organisation of 9,600 sports clubs in Lower Saxony.

Alexander Wurst completed two courses of study: After a degree in administrative sciences from the University of Constance, he also earned a degree in criminology at the University of Hamburg.
