At the invitation of the Lower Saxony Ministry of Economics, the 10th International Consultant Days took place at the premises of the Hanover Chamber of Commerce and Industry on 20 November 2018. In their key note speeches, the nine foreign representatives of the State of Lower Saxony gave a good overview of interesting target markets for German companies. The first block included China, Russia, Iran and the USA, some of which are currently problematic markets. After the coffee break, the participants were given insights into Scandinavia, Poland, South Africa, Cuba and Panama, as well as Turkey.
German companies continue to show strong interest in these markets, and the current challenges tend to increase the need for consulting services in several countries. Thus, the representatives from Moscow and Shanghai, Anna Urumyan and Patrick Gu, were sought-after discussion partners in individual talks and during the breaks.
Many companies are currently looking for sales partners in these countries. Anna Urumyan: "It is understandable that Lower Saxony companies would like to sell their products through local partners. In many areas, especially when it comes to B2B products or equipment that requires a lot of explanation, Russian customers expect a certain local presence. This does not necessarily mean that the companies need to establish a representative office or subsidiary. It is, for instance, possible to employ a local project manager via the DMAN Business Pool Moscow. This flexible solution allows a quick start without any bureaucratic hurdles or long-term investments."
