Helping women in Tanzania to set up their own businesses is the aim of the project „Fit for Leadership - Self-Development and Entrepreneur Empowerment for Tanzanian Female Business Leaders“ which DMAN has implemented successfully.

The project supports future female entrepreneurs from the cultural and creative industries in Tanzania. The creative sector is one of the fast-growing industries in East Africa, especially for women. However, women often work only part-time in the fields of design, photography, upcycling or social entrepreneurship because they have not (yet) dared to take the step into full self-employment.

With the current project, which is funded by the Lower Saxony Ministry of Social Affairs, Health and Equal Opportunities, this is now set to change.

During the 10-day online training course, Angelika Farhan-Reimpell and Inga Markwart provided the prospective founders of new businesses with specific knowledge they will need to successfully turn their business idea into reality. This included in particular: business and financial planning, pricing, legal form, marketing and market entry, work-life balance, entrepreneurial conduct and personal development.

To ensure a sustainable transfer of the acquired knowledge into practice, DMAN accompanies the participants after the seminar with individual coaching sessions.
