Chinese mayors visit Celle

In August 2016, DMAN welcomed 15 mayors from the Chinese province Shandong for a 2-week seminar in Celle. Afterwards, the participants traveled to Munich where they spent another week.

The topics of their programme – Development of new industries and Industry 4.0 – were not just dealt with theoretically. As with all DMAN programmes, the knowledge transfer in the seminar sessions was complemented with information visits at companies in Hanover, Brunswick, Wolfsburg, Augsburg and Munich.

After their first seminar day with Dr. Martin Biermann, former mayor of Celle, they went to the historic restaurant in the town hall of Celle where they dined in the "Bürgermeisterkeller" (mayors cellar). This room used to be the meeting room of the former councilmen and their aristocratic guests. Worked into the window glasses of the room are the emblems of every mayor of Celle since the middle of the 14th century. Of course, Dr. Biermann (on the right) could point out his emblem to our guests.

The delegation was also received by the mayor of Celle Dirk-Ulrich Mende and by Thomas Faber, responsible for the city’s business development. They gave their Chinese colleagues insights into the city administration of Celle.
